Karen Rhodes MA, lMHCA
I approach psychotherapy and marriage/relationship counseling through a lens of creativity and positive psychology that is unafraid of the dark side of our experience but believes in working the problems from both directions at once. I’ll walk with you into the cave and help you come back out into the sunlight.
Prior to counseling I was an award winning journalist. Writing is a passion of mine and I have found writing opens a new pathway to healing. Together I can help you live and write your story well, the story you want to live not the story you have been forced to live.
I work in a partial hospitalization setting where I teach programs I created and wrote in positive psychology, expressive writing and psychodrama.
I have also been trained in both The Gottman method of marriage counseling and the Bader-Pearson developmental model. Couples are my jam and I can’t wait to meet you.
Areas of Focus:
Dysthymia (chronic depression)
Unravelling what makes you stuck
Writing your life story (both literary and therapeutic lens)
At this time I am an out of network provider for all insurance companies.
I can provide you with a receipt of service that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
