I believe the most revolutionary thing we can do is to ask ourselves how we are feeling. The only thing more profound is to ask and answer it in the presence of another who’s bravely and truthfully answered it before. To ask or answer that question unlocks the mystery of us and leads to understanding the ways we’ve been hurt, harmed and neglected and how we’ve hidden our shame, fear and hurt. My approach is relational, emotionally focused, person-centered, culturally sensitive
One of my favorite t.v. shows as a kid in the 80’s was called, “Kids Are People Too!” I am passionate that kids, too, receive the help they need to understand what they are feeling. Oftentimes, concerning behavior is communicating a need to be seen, understood, and heard. Most of all, children need to feel safe. My goal is to provide kids and teens with a safe space to process their feelings and learn to thrive in their home and relationships with themselves and others.
Outside of my practice, I have two adult children living at home and in France. My husband is Italian and we started our family in Zurich, Switzerland. I speak some German and Italian and love learning about different cultures. I also enjoy making art and crafting. We have an eight year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in training to be a therapy dog.
Here is a helpful guide on how therapy works with children and what your child can anticipate coming to see me. What is therapy guide for children?
